How To: Upside Down French Braid Updo with Bow Bun

Creating the perfect updo starts with having sleek, shiny, and manageable hair. When a client comes in looking for a particular style they saw on Pinterest, we do a quick prep using NutriFuze, a hydration treatment that's prepared at the chair. The neon green infusion of wheat protein and natural oils always delights our clients as we mix it up with the coconut oil activator to create a deep conditioning cream. Just a slab of NutriFuze on clean wet hair, rinse, blow dry and BAM, the client's hair is looking SHINY and frizz free.

Upside Down French Braid Updo Braid Bun Tutorial:

Follow the steps below to acheive the perfect french braid updo with a bow bun.

  1. Flip the client's head upside down and gently brush hair to get rid of tangles
  2. Start the French braid at the nape of the neck and braid towards the crown of the head.
  3. Secure the braid at the top of the head with a pony tail holder.
  4. Take another ponytail holder and combine the braid and the rest of the hair.
  5. Instead of pulling the pony tail all the way through, leave about ½ of the hair in the pony tail holder to create a loop with the loose end of the hair laying on the top of the head.
  6. Divide the looped hair into 2 sections.
  7. Take the loose end of the hair and bring it back and through the center of the 2 sections – this will make the center of the bow.
  8. Tuck the extra hair into the ponytail holder and secure the bow with bobby pins.
  9. Spray hair with hairspray to get rid of any fly-aways
